Maksim Rakitin

About me


I am an Assistant Computational Scientist at the Data Acquisition, Management and Analysis (DAMA) group of NSLS-II, BNL. My interests are in applied scientific software development in the fields of condensed matter physics, physical optics and data acquisition and analysis.

I received my Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics in 2012 at South Ural State University, Chelyabinsk, Russia. From 2013 to 2015 I was a Postdoctoral Associate at Stony Brook University before joining Brookhaven National Laboratory in December 2015. Before joining the DAMA group in November 2017, I worked as a Research Associate till November, 2017, working on the software projects, Sirepo and SRW (see links below).

At DAMA there are many interesting projects I am working on, including Bluesky, Ophyd and Databroker (more information about the projects are in the links below).
