Ignace Jarrige

Group Leader, Soft Inelastic X-ray Scattering Beamline

Prior to arriving at Brookhaven, Dr. Jarrige held the position of Research Scientist at JAEA in SPring-8 (Japan), where he led a program of novel, high-impact research in physics and materials science that utilizes inelastic x-ray scattering (IXS).

As the group leader, he is responsible for the design and construction of the state-of-the-art Soft Inelastic X-ray Scattering Beamline at NSLS-II and its associated scientific program in condensed matter physics. The beamline construction will be completed in 2017.

The current research of Dr. Jarrige addresses major questions related to emergent phenomena in quantum materials, such as high-Tc superconductors, Kondo systems, and topological insulators.
