Gabriele Bassi

Associate Physicist, Accelerator Physics Group, Accelerator Systems Division, PS Directorate


Dr. Gabriele Bassi joined NSLS-II on August 2, 2010 and will work under the direction of Dr. Sam Krinsky. In his new role, Dr. Bassi, whose expertise is in collective effects, will participate in the continuing design and optimization of the NSLS- II accelerator systems and play an active role in the commissioning of the NSLS-II accelerator systems.

In 2003, Gabriele received his PhD in Physics from the University of Bologna, Italy, successfully defending his dissertation: “Analytical and Numerical Studies of Stochastic Effects in Beam Dynamics.”

Prior to joining NSLS-II, Dr. Bassi held a dual appointment both at the Department of Physics, University of Liverpool, UK and The Cockcroft Institute in Daresbury, UK.
