NSLS-II RF Engineer, Accelerator Systems Division
Prior to joining NSLS-II, Brian was employed at Communications Specialties, Inc. as a Project Manager and was responsible for design, simulation and debugging of all Xilinx FPGA’s found in the company’s fiber optic products using VHDL and the Xilinx ISE toolset. Brian also developed system level architecture for new fiber optic communication equipment, designed printed circuit board schematics using Cadence Orcad Capture, and maintain all engineering software / license agreements.
Reporting to Jim Rose, Brian will integrate the high speed analog and digital systems with high power RF systems and will test and commission these systems. He will also be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and conducting research for the development of high speed analog/digital RF circuits including fast RF interlocks and I/Q modulators, creating system schematics and wiring diagrams, overseeing short-run production and the testing and debugging of systems.
Brian has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute, Brooklyn and a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic University in Farmingdale.
