Yuan Yao

NSLS-II Mechanical Engineer, Beamline Support, Experimental Facilities Division

Prior to joining NSLS-II, Dr. Yuan Yao worked as a mechanical engineer at CVD Equipment, a manufacturer of equipment and process solutions used to develop and manufacture solar, nano, and advanced electronic components, in addition to materials and coatings for research and industrial applications.

Yuan attained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from
Northwestern University in Illinois, and his Master’s and Bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University in China.

Reporting directly to Mary Carlucci-Dayton, Dr. Yao’s responsibilities include working with others on the specification, design, analysis, fabrication/procurement, installation, and commissioning of X-ray beamline mechanical subsystems for the NSLS-II Project.
