Vincent De Andrade
Associate Scientist, Photon Division
Vincent De Andrade joined the Photon Division within the Photon Sciences Directorate in 2010 to help develop the submicron resolution x-ray spectroscopy beamline (SRX) at the National Synchrotron Light Source II.
His scientific specialties include: Instrumentation - Full-field µspectroscopy setup development - High precision optics for synchrotron beamlines Earth sciences and metamorphism - Deciphering of information recorded in rocks bearing minerals to retrace the pressure-temperature history of single rocks from which are derived geodynamic models - Speciation of minerals - Mineralogical orientations with polarization contrast imaging
Before coming to Photon Sciences in 2010, De Andrade did a postdoc at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility, working at the ID21 spectroscopy beamline. He also taught at the Joseph Fourier University in France.
Education Ph.D. in Earth Sciences, Joseph Fourier University, Grenoble, France
