Alessandro Cunsolo

Inelastic X-ray Scattering Beamline Physicist, NSLS-II Experimental Facilities Division


Dr. Cunsolo has joined us from Argonne National Laboratory's Advanced Photon Source (APS), where he was employed as a visiting scientist on Sabbatical leave from the Italian National Institute for Physics. At the APS, Alessandro performed his research at the extremely high resolution (1.5 meV) Inelastic X Ray Scattering (IXS) spectrometer.

Dr. Cunsolo received his PhD in Physics, from Universite Joseph Fourier in Grenoble, France, completing his thesis in relaxation phenomena in the THz dynamics of simple fluids probed by inelastic x-ray scattering.

Working under the direction of the Dr. Yong Cai, Alessandro will be responsible for the development of a scientific research program and its technical implementation at a state-of-the-art inelastic x-ray scattering beamline, including its design, construction, and commissioning.
