Instrumentation Physicist, Accelerator Physics Group, NSLS-II Accelerator Division
Dr. Ilinski has joined us from HASYLAB, DESY in Hamburg, Germany where he held the rank of physicist working on x-ray synchrotron radiation instrumentation, including: x-ray beam position monitors, detectors, diffractive optics, wigglers and undulators. Prior to his appointment at DESY, Dr. Ilinski was employed at the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory for six years.
Dr. Ilinski received his PhD in Physics, from the Illinois Institute of Technology, completing his thesis on the experimental characterization of the radiation from insertion devices at the third generation synchrotron radiation sources.
As an instrumentation physicist, he will be responsible for the design and commissioning of synchrotron radiation diagnostics for the NSLS-II accelerator systems as well as carrying out R&D on x-ray beam position monitors.
