Andrei Fluerasu

Group Leader – Coherent Hard X-ray Scattering Beamline, Photon Division

Andrei Fluerasu joined us from the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble, France. As a scientist at ESRF, Fluerasu took an active part in the general maintenance and development program of the Troika beamline, where his research focused on x-ray photon correlation spectroscopy (XPCS).

Fluerasu holds a PhD in Physics from McGill University in Canada, where he concentrated on XPCS studies of non-equilibrium ordering processes in metallic alloys.

As the CHX beamline group leader, Fluerasu will work closely with the user community to define the scientific mission and technical requirements for a coherent scattering beamline and for its design, construction, and commissioning. He will also be responsible for developing and managing the scientific research program.
