John Gosman

NSLS-II ECS Lead Mechanical Engineer


Prior to joining NSLS-II on June 9, 2008, John Gosman held the title of Director of Engineering at Integrated HVAC design build construction firm, designing and overseeing installation of HVAC Systems for large commercial and high end residential facilities.

John had previously worked at H2M A&E firm designing HVAC systems for large commercial buildings.

John started his engineering career at Lockheed Martin Space Operations at Kennedy Space Center. John spent 10 years at NASA before returning to Long Island.

At the space center John was a member of the firing room launch control team responsible for shuttle critical systems during launch count down.

During his time there John also acted as lead mechanical project engineer for shuttle mid body modifications to install and test Russian hardware for the flight to the space station MIR.

John attained his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University.

He has approximately 20 years of experience in the field.
