NSLS-II Quality Assurance Manager
Christopher Porretto is the Quality Assurance Manager for the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II) project. He has responsibility for implementation and oversight of the Quality Assurance program, including Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Quality Assessment.
Christopher joined Brookhaven National Laboratory in 1992, as the deputy section head for quality assurance in the Magnet Division of the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) project. In 1996, he was promoted to quality assurance manager, a position he held until joining the NSLS-II project in 2007. He is also the quality assurance manager for the Center for Functional Nanomaterials (CFN) project, a position he has held since 2005. Prior to joining BNL, Christopher spent five years working at Hazeltine Corporation and Telephonics Corporation, both prominent Long Island defense contractors.
Christopher earned a B.E. degree in mechanical engineering and an M.S. degree in industrial management from Stony Brook University, in 1987 and 1996, respectively.
